This position is responsible for a variety of indoor and outdoor tasks in our maintenance department. Tasks include cleaning, mowing, trimming, painting, driving, snow removal, trips to the airport, as well as other occasional errands and duties to be assigned on a daily basis. Additionally, position requires that an individual be able to perform general construction duties that include framing, plumbing, drywall repair, ceiling installation, etc. Must be able to work independently on projects as required. Safety-related duties are included, such as ensuring fire extinguishers are routinely checked, eye wash stations are operating, emergency lights are functional and that A/C filters are changed.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; valid driver's license and clean driving record to operate company vehicles; neat appearance to greet customers and visitors; ability to operate power equipment; ability to lift up to 80 pounds and to climb ladders. Must be able to work flexible hours and occasional overtime.

Looking for an opportunity to join a fast-paced team managing rights and permissions covering nearly fifteen thousand news sources? NewsBank, inc. is a growing, private company that partners with current and historical news sources and archival collections worldwide to provide schools, libraries, universities, and genealogists with valuable primary source information. Position may be remote from your home office.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Department's systems expert for contact management systems and other department systems and liaise with IT staff on a day-to-day basis.
- Manage part-time clerical and research staff.
- Work closely with multiple departments to build positive business relationships with NewsBank employees at all levels and our business partners.
- Work with the Accounting Department to produce letters and reports related to royalty checks and respond to basic queries and requests related to royalty payments.
- Maintain records of source rights and activities related to rights and permissions.
- Provide information and reports to NewsBank staff on a regular basis and as needed.
Essential Functions:
Royalties:
- Manage record keeping, basic queries, and requests related to royalty payments and histories.
- Check royalty weight calculation, proofread letters following mail merge, and sign all letters.
- Manage per-title reports, ensuring that royalties match publishers, researching any reports that look wrong, and interacting with Royalties Administrators and Accounting personnel as needed.
- Supervise part-time staff on filing contracts/royalties and respond to any filing questions that arise.
Digitization Obligations Tracking:
- Responsible for documentation and tracking for NewsBank's publisher contracts for digitization of images from microfilm and similar services.
- Review digitization contracts, notify NewsBank Digitization, Sales, and Marketing Staffs about digitization rights and obligations, and track publisher obligations and permissions for digitization.
- Monitor ongoing digitization and provide monthly (and on-demand) recommendations for prioritizing digitization projects.
- Act as the communications coordinator between the Rights and Permissions team and staff at NewsBank's El Paso digitization facility.
Targeting:
- Maintain records of content rights and activities related to rights and permissions in NewsBank's CRM databases.
- Set up new campaigns in CRM and work with Rights and Permissions (R&P) Department staff to research and set up target information.
- Provide information and reports to other R&P staff as needed and respond to requests for information on targets from sales/marketing staff.
Content Memos:
- Oversee or produce content memos recapping publisher license agreements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Background in and knowledge of the news industry highly preferred.
- Expertise in Excel spreadsheets and using or developing databases.
- Attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Ability to work well as a team participant and leader.
- Ability to conduct online research.

We are looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to be responsible for:
- Preparing multi-state sales tax returns, nexus research, and general tax compliance
- Filing Secretary of State registrations and annual reports
- Assisting the Controller with preparation of Federal and Multi State Income and Franchise tax returns
- Assisting with federal and state audits
- Responding to inquiries and notices from regulatory agencies
- Preparing complex account reconciliations, analysis, and general accounting work
- Compiling and reviewing data for integration between accounting and tax systems
- Showing Initiative in improving processes and efficiencies

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintain customer accounts to ensure accurate billing information
- Complete daily reporting for upper management
- Complete daily closing and balancing of all companies
- Audit initial orders to insure accurate pricing and compliance with company policies
- Maintain price lists
- Contacts customers and works with Sales concerning open invoices and collecting delinquent accounts for both NewsBank and Readex division.
- Call customers and fax, email or mail invoices or retypes related to collection of accounts
- Maintain constant communication with Sales and Management regarding issues with customers
- Process and distribute reports on the status of collections and cancellation requests.
- Apply daily cash in Accounts Receivable system
- Backs up members of the Financial Services team as required
- Perform other duties as may be required
