Q: How do I obtain a free access GenealogyBank membership?
A: Currently FamilySearch is providing a limited number of free access accounts. You will be notified by email when and if additional accounts are made available in the future.
Q: Will I be able to get a free account in the future? I received an invite but was not able to take advantage of the free access offer for GenealogyBank before all of the licenses were taken.
A: Family Search and GenealogyBank are currently working to provide free accounts to LDS Church members in the future. We do not have a date as of yet.
Q: How long will I continue to have a free membership to GenealogyBank?
A: Your free access membership will remain active as long as GenealogyBank and FamilySearch maintain this agreement and as long as you continue to use your GenealogyBank membership. FamilySearch reserves the right to revoke any free membership access from its users if it is not being used periodically.
“Dormant Account” is an Free Subscription that has had no login activity in the preceding 12-months. Family Search shall be solely responsible for notifying a Church Member whose Free Subscription is being cancelled.
Q: What happens if I don’t use my free GenealogyBank membership after I register, will I lose my access?
A: Due to the fact the accounts are limited at this time, if for some reason you do not use your GenealogyBank account within a year, you may risk losing access.
Q: How do you know that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ?
A: Family Search compiled the list of Family Search users and LDS Church Members. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact FamilySearch at 1-866-406-1830
